Duo left out by Westmeath chief

New Westmeath football manager Pat Flanagan has named his first squad, and there are no places for established stars Donal O'Donoghue and John Smyth.

The pair have been left out of the 47-man panel, which is to be cut to 26 for the National League.

Also absent are the retired quartet of Martin Flanagan, John Keane, Damien Healy and Derek Heavin.

Michael Ennis will miss the league campaign due to a shoulder injury which requires surgery, but has been included.

Defender Kieran Gavin returns to the panel after spending last summer in San Francisco.
