Fans get another chance to worship Tyrone heroes

The All-Ireland champions were back in action last night in the annual GOAL Challenge, when Tyrone fans got another opportunity to worship their heroes.

Coalisland provided the opposition at Healy Park, where a crowd of around 4,000 watched a light-hearted encounter.

“The event is giving something to the supporters, especially those that couldn’t get tickets for the All-Ireland final,” said county chairman Pat Darcy. It’s a bit of a fun, more of a friendly game, and all the money that’s raised will go to GOAL and a worthy cause.

“There was a great sense of occasion about the whole day on Sunday, the homecoming on Monday and this here tonight. Its all great for the people of Tyrone and everybody involved in Tyrone football.”

The Sam Maguire Cup was one of many star attractions with supporters queuing to have photographs taken with the famous trophy. And the players remained in the ground for some time after the game to sign autographs.
