Fennelly quits Laois

Brendan Fennelly has resigned as Laois hurling manager.

His decision follows a heavy All-Ireland SHC Qualifier defeat to Cork last month, in which the O'Moore men conceded 10 goals on their way to a 34 points mauling.

Fennelly is the latest manager to step down in recent weeks, joining Joe Dooley (Offaly), Colm Bonnar (Wexford) and Ger O'Loughlin (Clare), who all announced their departure following their teams' elimination from the championship.
