Fermanagh sinking after loss

Fermanagh 0-10 Louth 2-11

Louth deservedly came away with the points from Brewster Park yesterday as they enjoyed a seven-point victory over Fermanagh, leaving Malachy O’Rourke’s side facing a battle against relegation.

O’Rourke brought back some of his big guns with Marty McGrath, Ryan McCluskey and Eamon Maguire in his starting line up.

Louth held a two point advantage at the break, 1-04 to 0-05, with the goal arriving in the 25th minute courtesy of JP Rooney.

Fermanagh had Ciaran McElroy dismissed for a second booking midway through the second half when Louth led 1-8 to 0-8.

Shane Lennon rattled in Louth’s second goal and although Mattie Keenan notched four second half frees for Fermanagh they suffered a third defeat of the campaign.
