Ernesiders grab promotion and Armagh showdown

NFL Division Four: Wexford 0-07 - Fermanagh 1-12

Fermanagh sealed promotion to Division Two and set up a league final showdown against Armagh with a comprehensive eight point win over Wexford in Innovate Wexford Park yesterday.

Pete McGrath's side maintained their unbeaten run thanks to an excellent second half performance.

With half time approaching Wexford would have been happy to have been only two points adrift, 0-5 to 0-3.

However, in added on time at the end of the half, Fermanagh were awarded a penalty and Sean Quigley calmly tucked the ball to the back of the net to leave five in it at the interval.

Fermanagh played a running game into the breeze in the second half and enjoyed great success.

Ryan Jones, Eoin Donnelly, Barry Mulrone and Tomas Corrigan all rattled over points for McGrath's charges in the second period as they opened up an eight point gap with 15 minutes to go.

And they comfortably saw out the game to seal a return to Division Two for the first time since 2009.
