Galway coast past Wexford

Published 13/02/2011

Galway encountered little resistance from Wexford as they cruised to a 1-24 to 0-6 NHL Division One win.

Ger Farragher struck a string of quality scores in the first half, while Stephen Banville registered Wexford's only score from play before the interval.

The Tribesmen led by 0-13 to 0-4 at the turnaround, and added further points through Farragher, Donal Barry and Niall Healy to put the game out of sight early in the second half.

Aonghus Callanan sealed the win with the only goal of the game at the beginning of the final quarter to steer the defending league champions to a 21 points success.
