Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has welcomed plans to introduce a hooter system in National League games next year.
Harte believes the initiative has the potential to effectively eradicate uncertainty and controversy currently associated with match-timing.
"If it's very visible on the clock, when the stoppages occur, then it would take away a variable that exists at the minute, so it's something that might be very worth experimenting with," he said.
"People are always suspicious of these kind of things, that's the nature of the being. It's hard to get it accurate all the time, and sometimes it seems like there should be more time."
GAA president Christy Cooney has confirmed that the time-keeping system, similar to that employed in ladies football, will be used on an experimental basis in both hurling and football when the leagues get under way in February.
