Harte opts for old heads

Published 07/01/2011

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has named a vastly experienced team for Sunday's Dr McKenna Cup opener against Donegal.

Ten of the players he has selected played in the All-Ireland quarter-final defeat to Dublin last August.

The treble All-Ireland winning manager has handed out two debuts for the Healy Park tie, a repeat of last year's final.

Ciaran Gervin, who was only called into the squad last week, gets a start in attack, while Aidan McCrory is included at corner-back. Gervin was a member of the team which won the all-Ireland minor title in 2008.

Aidan Cassidy returns to midfield after missing the most of last year through injury.
