Harte relying on Tyrone trio to step up

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte has made three changes from the Tyrone starting 15 that so impressively defeated Dublin in Croke Park last weekend, for this Sunday's trip to Newbridge to take on Kieran McGeeney's Kildare.

In comes Ryan McKenna to replace Justin McMahon, Paddy McNiece regains his wing-forward berth from Ciaran McGinley, and Conor McAliskey nudges out Martin Penrose in the full-forward line.

Kieran McGeeney has yet to name his team for the vital clash at the top of Division One, but has a number of the promising under-21 team that handed a 3-22 to 0-7 hammering to Laois during the week that he may wish to consider. Paul Grimley names an unchanged team from that which fell to Louth last weekend, ahead of their trip to take on Westmeath in Cusack Park, Mullingar.

A broken hand sustained by Mark Lynch in the league win over Longford last weekend has meant a reshuffle around the back line for Derry as they prepare for their game against Louth in Drogheda on Sunday.

"It is obviously a setback but it's also a chance for others now to step up to the plate," commented manager Brian McIver.

"Mark has shown tremendous leadership all year and towards the end of last year. However, we need an entire squad of leaders and it is up to the other fellas to fill that space until Mark returns."

While Lynch has been impressive in his new role in the heart of defence, he is replaced by the dynamic Ger O'Kane, while Michael Bateson slots into the attack. Raymond Wilkinson earns a start in place of Emmett McGuckin.
