Johnston free to move

Seanie Johnston has won his appeal to the Central appeals Committee, and is now free to transfer from Cavan to Kildare.

He is to switch his club allegiance from Cavan Gaels to St Kevin's following a long-running and controversial saga.

But Johnston will not be eligible to represent Kildare until he has played for his new club in the county championship.

However, no club championship games are scheduled ahead of the Lilywhites' Leinster SFC opener against Offaly on June 17.
