Monaghan goalkeeper Lynda Martin got among the scorers as the Division One table-toppers made it five straight wins yesterday. Lynda showed that it's not just male counterparts Stephen Cluxton from Dublin or Tyrone's Niall Morgan that can convert chances outfield, Martin netting a penalty in the process of her team beating Laois away by 4-9 to 1-6.
It was a good enough day for Ulster sides with Donegal, Fermanagh and Cavan among other winners in the round five exchanges.
Donegal went to Meath looking for just their second victory of the campaign and returned home with all three points on a 2-11 to 2-8 margin. Tyrone's travels took them to UCD against Dublin who led 1-3 to 0-4 at half-time. The home girls then added two further goals in a 3-7 to 0-6 triumph.
In other results, there were successes for Ulster representatives Fermanagh and Cavan in Division Two over Waterford and Clare respectively, the Erne girls netting seven goals in their victory.
St Paul's HS of Bessbrook, meanwhile, made a bold bid for All-Ireland U-16 honours but the Armagh girls missed out narrowly against Glenamaddy CS.
