In the Walsh Cup, Galway swamped UCD by 6-25 to 1-8 at Belfield, with debutant Conor Cooney hitting 2-6.
The Tribesmen's other goals came from Joe Canning, Damien Hayes, David Burke and Iarlaith Tannion.
Meanwhile, the O'Byrne Cup football final between Kildare and DCU was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Newbridge.
The Kehoe Shield semi-final between Armagh Roscommon, due to be played at Athleague, also fell victim to the weather.
