NHL PLAY-OFF: Make no mistake, it would be a disaster if Antrim's hurlers were to lose this afternoon's promotion/relegation play-off to Kerry and consign themselves to hurling in Division 2A next year, according to manager Kevin Ryan.

Last weekend, Kerry maintained their 2A title when they took Westmeath apart in the final, and they now face the Saffrons today at Parnell Park (throw-in 3pm) for the right to play in Division 1B next season, with Ryan warning of the consequences of defeat.

"It's a Championship game for us, that's what it is," says the former Waterford selector.

"You have to deal with it and get on with it. Joe Public looking into the league would have always thought it was going to be ourselves and Laois, but we weren't working towards that.

"But it is what it is and we just have to get out of it. This is hugely important for us."
