Kilkenny duo likely to play final

Kilkenny stars Henry Shefflin and John Tennyson are both in contention for starting places in Sunday's All-Ireland SHC final after showing no adverse reaction to recent training sessions.

Now skipper Brian Hogan is the only definite absentee as the Cats go for a record fifth successive title.

Hogan has a broken finger, and could be replaced at centre back by Tennyson for the clash with Tipperary.

Meanwhile, Galway are to reappoint manager John McIntyre for a second two-year term. He said in a county board meeting on Tuesday that he is keen to continue.
