Kilkenny duo to miss season

Henry Shefflin and John Tennyson will miss Kilkenny's entire NHL campaign.

Both suffered knee ligaments injuries in the latter stages of the 2010 championship, which culminated in the Cats failing to win a fifth successive All-Ireland title.

Shefflin lasted only a few minutes of the final against Tipperary, while Tennyson lasted the entire game.

Both players have decided to take as long as possible to achieve full recovery, and are unlikely to return prior to the Leinster SHC semi-final on June 18.
