Lappin: Players will learn from win

Australia's assistant coach Matthew Lappin believes his players will learn valuable lessons from their big win over a Cork colleges selection as they prepare for Saturday's first Test against Ireland in the International Rules series.

"It was good experience for our players, they'll learn a hell of a lot from the mistakes they made," he told RTE.

Lappin revealed that the Australia management has been monitoring the form of a number of Irish players who will be in action in the Tests in Limerick this weekend and at Croke Park a week later.

"We've looked at quite a lot of the Irish boys and how well they've done in their Gaelic season, so we've done a little bit of work on that. But, we'll learn a lot more on Saturday when we come up face-to-face."
