Lay-off for Griffin

Kerry full-back Tommy Griffin is to miss the early games of the National Football League as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.

The 32-year-old ruptured two ligaments in an ankle last summer, and will not be fit in time for the NFL opener.

Griffin is expecting to be in a position to resume playing after the NFL clash with Dublin in late February.
