Lyons: Mayo job a dream

Former Dublin football boss Tommy Lyons says he is honoured to be considered for the Mayo job.

Lyons met with county board chairman James Waldron, vice-chairman Paddy McNicholas, secretary Sean Feeney and treasurer JP Lambe to outline his plans if appointed.

"I'm very happy at what was discussed. It would be an absolute dream for me to do this job. I see it as a great challenge to put a great football county back on track. I actually feel honoured to be in the running for it," he said.

Fellow candidates John Maughan, Anthony McGarry, Denis Kearney and Tommy Carr have also spoken with the board.
