Monaghan face Division One fight after defeat in Dublin

Dublin 2-11 Monaghan 1-9

Monaghan manager Seamus McEnaney believes that his team will survive in Division One in spite of a five point defeat to Dublin at Parnell Park.

“There are four points to play for and we’ll be fighting tooth and nail for those,” said McEnaney.

Monaghan were rocked when Dessie Mone was dismissed for a second yellow in the 40th minute.

Tomas Freeman bagged the visitors’ goal just after the break.

Bernard Brogan, after 1-4 in the first half, made the space for Kevin McManamon to score Dublin’s second goal after 52 minutes to make it 2-7 to 1-7.
