A single point was as good as a 10 points winning margin for De la Salle centre back Kevin Moran, who played a heroic role in the Waterford side's 0-9 to 0-8 Munster SHC final win over Thurles Sarsfields.
"We came out on top by a point in the end, and we might just have narrowly deserved it," he said.
De la Salle led by five points at the break, but had to withstand a strong showing from the Tipperary champions in the second half.
"We played very well in the first half and we probably should have been more up at half-time," Moran added.
"We knew they were going to get a spell, but we got an important point when they got three in a row, and that was vital.
"The pitch was frosted over and I think the two teams gave a great account of themselves, it was a great match."
