Nemo hold off Dr Crokes

Nemo Rangers survived a furious fight back from Dr Crokes to win their eighth Munster Club Football title with a 1-15 to 1-13 success at Mallow.

James Masters blasted home an 11th minute goal, and by that stage he had already bagged 1-2, with Paul Kerrigan knocking over three points as they tore the Crokes defence to shreds.

Colm Cooper was starved of possession at the other end, but still crafted two goal chances, but executed neither, and his side went in at the break trailing by 1-13 to 0-3.

Crokes chipped away at the deficit with points from Kieran O'Leary, Cooper and Ambrose O'Donovan, but O'Leary's stoppage time goal came too late.

The Cork champions scored just two second half points, but held on for a narrow triumph.
