Padden set for Armagh move

Mayo's Billy Joe Padden has confirmed his switch to Armagh. His allegiance will be with the Orchard county this year, following his club transfer from native club Bellmullet to Carrickcuppen.

The 29 year-old has already been training with Paddy O'Rourke's Armagh squad, and will be bidding for a place in the NFL Squad.

Padden, son of former Mayo great Willie Joe, who won three Connacht SFC titles and an NFL crown with the westerners.

On his twitter page, Padden thanked Mayo supporters for their good wishes on his decision to move north.

"I'm very grateful to all involved in Mayo football and your good wishes are much appreciated," he tweeted.
