Top of the table Antrim were sent home reeling from Ardfinnan - overcome by a very determined Tipperary.
Victory would have promoted Antrim to Division Three, but they will have to put the champagne on ice.
It's a blow to their campaign and to add to their woes, they had full back Andy McLean sent off.
Tipp led 0-5 to 0-3 at the interval, having played with the aid of the breeze.
Antrim had not been in the game as they would have liked and they were being dominated at midfield and half back where Joe Quinn and Michael McCann were struggling to make an impact in front of Sean Kelly.
Points from their best attacker Kevin Niblock, Michael McCann and Paddy Cunningham seemed to set Antrim up for the second half. But Tipp had other ideas.
Erratic shooting and choosing the wrong options at crucial times didn't help Antrim's cause.
Kevin Niblock had the deficit down to one but Tipp responded through Barry Grogan and Eoin Kearney before disaster struck for Antrim.
Full back McClean received his marching orders for a second yellow card and despite the numerical advantage, the Antrim lads tore into Tipperary with furocious intensity.
However, they could not break down the Tipp rearguard where the extra man was making a big difference.
