Rathvilly back Murphy for Ireland

Published 20/10/2010

Brendan Murphy has received the blessing of his Rathvilly club manager and team-mates to play for Ireland this weekend, just hours before the Carlow SFC final replay.

The Carlow star and former Sydney Swans player will line out for his country against Australia in the International Rules first Test in Limerick on Saturday evening.

Rathvilly manager and former Galway defender John Divilly has given Murphy the go-ahead to join his international colleagues, before travelling back to Carlow for Sunday's replay against Old Leighlin.
