Rogers loses fitness battle

Down captain Ambrose Rogers has lost his race for fitness ahead of Sunday's All-Ireland SFC final against Cork.

A cruciate knee ligament injury has kept him out of the starting fifteen, with his place at midfield going to Peter Fitzpatrick, who also deputised in the semi-final win over Kildare.

Manager James McCartan has named an unchanged team for the Croke Park title shoot-out.

One positional switch sees Benny Coulter move to the half forward line, with Paul McComiskey pushing up to corner forward.

Down: B McVeigh, D McCartan, D Gordon, D Rafferty, D Rooney, K McKernan, C Garvey, P Fitzpatrick, K King, D Hughes, M Poland, B Coulter, P McComiskey, J Clarke, M Clarke.
