Sheedy salutes Tipperary players

Tipperary manager Liam Sheedy has lauded the commitment of his players following their first All-Ireland hurling title since 2001.

Tipp halted Kilkenny's bid for a fifth successive triumph with a 4-17 to 1-18 success, and Sheedy said: "The effort and commitment they have put in over the past three years is incredible."

Kilkenny had defeated Tipperary in last season's decider, and Sheedy's confidence in his players' capacity to recover was justified at Croke Park.

"We were gutted here last year and we were determined we would be back I never doubted this group, and thankfully they got their just rewards," he added.
