St Gall’s are blown away in decider

There was disappointment for the hurlers of St Gall’s in the Intermediate decider, as Kilkenny’s St Lachtains powered their way to a comfortable 3-17 to 0-10 victory.



The Leinster men led 1-10 to |0-7, at the break with an Ollie |O’Connor goal in injury time opening up daylight after the accuracy of CJ McGourty from frees kept the Milltown men in touch. McGourty popped over six of his sides first half scores.

Fives successive points in the opening five minutes of the restart from Eoin Guinan (2), Robbie Dowling (2) and John Fitzpatrick eased St Lachtain’s clear before Aidan Gallagher registered St Gall’s opening score on 37 minutes for a 1-15 to 0-8 deficit.

John Fitzpatrick crashed home a goal after 46 minutes and, after Noel McGree and McGourty swapped points, Fitzpatrick registered goal number three to complete a comfortable evening for the Freshford men.
