Talty not keen on Stars top job
Former Galway star Brian Talty has ruled himself out of contention for the vacant football management post in his native county.
Talty, who now lives in Dublin, and has served as a selector with the Metropolitans, has asked his hometown club, Tuam Stars, not to nominate him for the position vacated by Joe Kernan.
Meanwhile, Kildare's veteran defender Anthony Rainbow has confirmed his retirement from inter-county football.
Rainbow (38) said: "I had it in my head at the start of the year that this would be my last one."
