Tyrell names Leinster captain

Kilkenny's Jackie Tyrell has been handed the captaincy of the Leinster hurling team for the M Donnelly Interprovicial series.

Thirteen Kilkenny players have been included in a squad that also contains six from Dublin.

The Leinster Council also confirmed that Joe Dooley will manage the team, while the province's football team will be managed by Sean Boylan.

The football team is dominated by All-Ireland champions Dublin, with 10 members, while Meath Laois and Kildare have three each.

A total of 10 counties are represented in the squad.
