Mickey Harte insisted that his fifth and latest Ulster title success as Tyrone manager was the best of the lot.

Harte's men defeated Donegal 13 points to 11 with a big finish at Clones yesterday in a gripping final to claim their first Anglo-Celt Cup since 2010.

By Tyrone standards it has been a long wait for provincial glory under the guidance of Harte, who savoured this triumph and celebrated with his players and family with glee. How he enjoyed holding grandson Michael - son of Tyrone physio Michael - after the game as thousands of jubilant supporters made their way on to the pitch.

"This is the best of all of them because of the famine that was there for six years and because of what had gone before and maybe Ulster titles were taken for granted in the 2000s and not enough joy put in when winning them," said Harte.

"This is different, the county was waiting on this and the fact that it was Donegal in the final."
