Tyrone set to begin quest for more Cup glory in Cavan
Tyrone launch their bid to win the Bank of Ireland Dr McKenna Cup for a sixth consecutive time when they travel to Kingspan Breffni Park to face Cavan on January 8 for the season opener.
Mickey Harte's men will then have two home games, the first coming the following Sunday when they host Ulster University Jordanstown. That will be followed by a midweek clash when Donegal come to Healy Park.
Down play their first game in the January competition at the home of RGU Downpatrick when former manager James McCartan brings his Queen's students as they ramp up preparations for the Sigerson Cup.
Derry and Armagh also lock horns on the first day in Owenbeg, while Monaghan host Fermanagh in Clones and UUJ travel to Ballybofey to face Donegal.
In Round 2, Down host Derry, Antrim take Monaghan to Corrigan Park and Donegal have Cavan at home.
Armagh, Fermanagh and Tyrone are all up against university teams and have the home advantage against Queen's, St Mary's and UUJ respectively.
Round 3, meanwhile, features the first chance for future Ulster Championship pairing Armagh and Down to lay down an early marker, while any meeting between the Red Hands and Donegal always has the potential to become a portent of things to come.
