Ulster club clash faces inspection

A pitch inspection is to be carried out on Friday in the hope that the Ulster club football final between Crossmaglen and Glenties can go ahead this weekend, at the third attempt.

"The temperature is expected to be six to eight degrees on Thursday," said Ulster PRO Oliver Galligan.

While a thaw is forecast for the latter part of this week, the prospect of melting snow leading to waterlogged pitches is a fresh concern.

But Galligan added: "We're not that worried about that, we'd be more concerned with places like Donegal and supporters travelling to the game."
