Wicklow edge Laois in cup tie

Wicklow scored a surprise O'Byrne Cup win over Laois at Portlaoise where they edged out the home side by 1-10 to 1-9.

Tony Hannon netted a penalty to ease Mick O'Dwyer's side into a 1-8 to 1-4 goal, with the Laois goal coming from Daithi Carroll.

The home side eased ahead in the closing stages but Hannon once again came to Wicklow's rescue.

He equalised from a free before steering over the winning point from play in the dying moments.
