Young injury blow for Kerry

Kerry defender Killian Young has been ruled out of action for the rest of the year as he faces keyhole surgery on his hip and groin.

Young limped out of South Kerry's recent Kerry SFC victory over Kilcummin and faces an eight-week recuperation period after surgery.

He should be back to full fitness in time for Kerry's NFL opener against newly crowned All-Ireland champions Cork on February 6.
