Giants rule over Capitals

A brace apiece from Evan Cheverie and Adam Keefe helped Belfast Giants move into second in the Elite League standings following a 6-3 victory over Edinburgh Capitals.

Mark McCutcheon and Darryl Lloyd were also on the scoresheet for the Giants, who moved five points behind leaders Braehead Clan, while Lukas Bohunicky, Dennis Rix and Greg Collins were on target for the Capitals, who lost their 10th match in a row.

Cardiff Devils closely follow the Giants in third as they claimed a second successive win - a 5-0 victory over Coventry Blaze where Tyson Marsh was twice on target.

Fife Flyers returned to winning ways as they edged Hull Stingrays 3-2, while Dundee Stars saw off Sheffield Steelers with a 3-2 shoot-out win.
