Clarke off the pace in East London

Darren Clarke slipped further off the pace during the third round of the Africa Open after he could only manage a one-under 72.

That left the Northern Irishman trailing leaders Louis Oosthuizen and Markus Brier by 10 strokes in East London.

Clarke's compatriot Gareth Maybin is one stroke better off after firing a two-under 71.

Former Open champion Oosthuizen shot a four-under-par round of 69 on day three to give him a 13-under total.

Oosthuizen recorded four birdies, an eagle and two bogeys - the second of which frustratingly came on the last - to sit alongside Austrian Brier, who managed a 70, on a tournament total 206.

Manuel Quiros (68), defending champion Charl Schwartzel (68) as well as South Africans Jaco van Zyl (70) and Jbe' Kruger (67) are just one behind on 12 under.
