Gerry Guckian (49) struck gold in the Greencastle open week when he bagged a hole in one at the 9th hole, amazing himself and others when he went on to do it again on the 11th hole.
The delighted solicitor, who was playing alongside a bookie said he wished he had betted on himself but was embarrassed to admit that despite his double whammy, he still didn’t win the competition.
“I didn’t have insurance which meant I lost out on €500 (£403) and had to buy drinks for everyone in the clubhouse out of my own pocket,” he told The Sun.
