Two lucky golf fans will win tickets for the Irish Open — as long as they help revamp one of the most popular beaches on the north coast.

Tidy Northern Ireland has teamed up with Northern Ireland Tourist Board and Coleraine Borough Council to launch One Big Shine Up — a chance for people to roll up their sleeves and restore the East Strand Beach at Portrush to its former sandy glory.

This Saturday from 10am to noon, all you have to do is turn up at the Council’s Watersports Centre at East Strand, receive a plastic bucket and set off. Gather as many stones as you can from a given area of the beach to fill your bucket and for every bucket filled and returned to the collection point, a raffle ticket will be entered into the draw for a pair of Irish Open tickets.

The more filled buckets, the more entries to the draw.

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult and all equipment will be provided on the day. If you would like more information contact Nicola Murray on 028 9073 6920 or nicola.murray@|
