Rory McIlroy backed for WGC-Dell Match Play win by very unlikely pundit Divot The Goat
Rory McIlroy has been tipped to win the WGC-Dell Match Play this week by an unlikely pundit.
And although the world number three has never successfully defended a title in his professional career - he has found an unlikely fan in his corner tipping him to win.
McIlroy was famously prevent from attempting to do so in last year's Open and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational after suffering a serious ankle injury while playing football .
But in a stark contrast to the usual sporting experts, for a little light relief the PGA Tour tasked Divot The Goat to pick his winner.
The field was first divided into 16 4 man groups.
Divot picked number three which housed Rory McIlroy, Kevin Na, Smylie Kaufman and Thobjorn Olesen.
He then expertly chose Group 4 Player A Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy shared the fun video on Facebook deeming it a "great choice".
