Tiger Woods will partner Sir Nick Faldo, five-time winner Peter Thomson and Mark Calcavecchia in the four-hole Champions Challenge being held on the eve of The Open at St Andrews next Wednesday.
There are 27 former winners taking part and the successful team will be presented with a cheque for £50,000 to be donated to charities of their choice.
The event is part of the celebrations to mark the 150th anniversary of the first championship.
The challenge will be played over the first, second, 17th and 18th holes, with one score to count at each hole.
Seve Ballesteros was hoping to take part, but withdrew two weeks ago on medical advice as he continues his recovery from brain surgery.
Jack Nicklaus, Nick Price and 89-year-old Australian Kel Nagle are also not competing, while Thomson is unable to play for medical reasons.
