Haslam claims superpole

Briton Liam Haslam will begin Sunday's opening race of the third round of the World Superbike Championship from pole position after recording the fastest lap at Aragon.

The Asprilla racing Team driver went round in one minute 49.664 seconds to claim his first pole since Phillip Island in 2010.

Ducati rider Chaz Davies will join Haslam on the front row, after finishing 0.033secs slower.

Championship leader Jonathan Rea, who had dominated in practice, was 0.389s off the pace in his Kawasaki, with Xavi Fores 0.785s behind the leader.

The third row sees Jordi Torres (Aprilla) start beside Alex Lowes (Suzuki) and Nico Terol (Althea).
