The Elks hockey team stole the show at Ulster University's annual Colours Sports Awards gala ceremony at the Titanic Centre.

The Elks picked up the UUSU Sports Club of the Year award after winning gold at the European Club Champions Challenge in Prague.

The team also successfully defended the Irish Senior Cup in March.

The prestigious Silver Salver was awarded to Elks captain Megan Frazer, which goes to the most outstanding sportsperson on the Belfast and Jordanstown campus.

Sports Union President Gillian Bell paid tribute to the sporting achievements of the university's students.

"This event is the pinnacle of our sporting year," she said.

"It is a great night of celebration and also reward for all the hard work and successes of sports people across the university," she added.

Certainly a special night for the Ulster Elks.
