Ladies indoor hockey event awaits green light

A conference call on Friday will determine whether or not the Irish women's indoor tournament will go ahead this season.

The Leinster championship has already been scrapped due to lack of interest but several teams have entered the Ulster series including All-Ireland title holders Ards.

"There is the possibly that the one Leinster women's team interested in taking part along with at least one other side from Connacht will come to Ulster for the tournament," said Ards player Lynn Mills who sits on the National indoor Committee.

"So we will be discussing that option among others and hopefully some sort of competition will go ahead to decide who will be Irish champions for the right to represent the country in Europe in 2015."
