Lisnagarvey and Banbridge among Irish trio set to dine at Europe's top table
Ireland will have three teams in the top-flight of European competition next season with Lisnagarvey and Banbridge men set to fly the flag for Ulster.
Garvey, captained by Jonathan Bell, were already guaranteed their place in the European Club Champions Trophy after winning the Irish Hockey League play-offs.
But Bann have now been confirmed as Ireland's second representative in the top division after the European governing body, the EHF, announced its latest national club rankings.
Bann finishing as runners-up in the second-tier continental event, the European Trophy in Glasgow 11 days ago, has secured Ireland a second place among the elite.
Dublin women's side Hermes complete the trio. That's despite the fact this year's representatives, Pegasus, finished in bottom place in the top division.
Pegasus will take part in the European Trophy next year after finishing runners-up to Hermes at all-Ireland level and due to the fact that Ulster Elks earned Ireland promotion after striking gold in the third-tier event.
