Megan Frazer is joint top of the EY women's Irish Hockey goal scoring charts after bagging four in the Ulster Elks' 8-0 drubbing of UCC which leaves the Jordanstown side sitting pretty at the top of the table.

They are one of three sides on maximum points but are ahead of Hermes and Railway Union on goal difference.

The Ireland captain was in imperious form as she took her tally to five after the Elks dominated from start to finish.

"Like all student sides, we have taken time to settle as our new players blend in and there has been steady improvement from the first IHL game to the third but the best is yet to come," she pledged.

Frazer is now tied with her Irish international teammate Anna O'Flanagan, who has also hit five in three games to date.

While the Elks are flying high, champions Pegasus have just one point out of a possible nine following a frustrating 1-0 defeat by Hermes whose winner scored by Nikki Evans came with just five minutes left.

"We produced an excellent performance, our best to date and we were very disappointed to leave Dublin with no points," said Pegs captain Alex Speers.

"We defended extremely well and managed to restrict them to just a few chances."

Ards secured their first win as they crushed Greenfields 6-0 in Galway where Irish international Chloe Brown hit a double.

There were also IHL wins for Cork Harlequins and Railway Union while at domestic level, Lurgan stay top of the pile after a 5-1 win at Armagh.
