Ireland's Mark Downey won points race gold on Saturday's second day of the Track World Cup in Apeldoorn.

Downey was victorious in the final sprint to win on 18 points from France's Morgan Kneisky on 14 points.

Olympic sprint bronze medallist Katy Marchant was fourth in a women's Keirin won by Liubov Basova of Ukraine.

Marchant was also seventh in the 500 metres time-trial.

Ryan Owens was fifth in the men's sprint and Lewis Oliva of Wales sixth as Andrii Vynokurov of Ukraine claimed gold.

Britain's Matthew Bostock, Ethan Hayter, Joe Halt and Matthew Walls were fifth in the four-rider, four-kilometres men's team pursuit won by Canada.
