Paralympic champion Jonathan Fox achieved the qualification time for this summer's Rio Games after nearly two years out of the pool.

The S7 100 metres backstroke swimmer recorded a time of one minute 10.48 seconds in his heat at the British Para-Swimming international meeting in Glasgow.

But Fox went even quicker in the final to win the gold medal in 1min 10.22secs, and show that his break from competition before the Rio Paralympics has not hurt him.

Ollie Hynd (Nova Centurion) and James Crisp (City of Sheffield) also set qualifying marks in the S8 and S9 classifications.

In the women's 100m backstroke Hannah Russell (Woking) posted a qualification time in the S12 classification.

Bethany Firth (Ards) is also in contention for Rio and North Ayrshire's Abby Kane hit the selection criteria for the S13 classification.

Stephanie Slater, who is based at the National Performance Centre in Manchester, also hit the qualifying standard.
