Mark King will play in his first ranking event final in 12 years after a 6-2 win over Kyren Wilson in the last four of the Northern Ireland Open.

The 42-year-old, whose last appearance in a final came at the Irish Masters in 2004, stormed into a 4-0 lead at the mid-session interval after reeling off frame-winning breaks of 55 and 72.

A break of 71 saw King extend his lead further but Wilson fought back by making 90 and 72 before losing a scrappy eighth frame to fall at the last-four stage.

The Romford-based potter will face Barry Hawkins after the world number 14 overcame Anthony Hamilton in a 6-5 victory in the other semi-final.
