The new Subaru Levorg that Colin Turkington will drive this year was on show at Donington Park for the British Touring Championship's pre-season media and test day. But 'show' was all it did.

It never took to the circuit and Turkington  and team-mate Jason Plato were left to explain a few "minor delays with the supply of some parts" meant that the BMR team had decided to wait "until everything was spot on".

Two-time BTCC champion Turkington said: "It is disappointing but I am confident it is worth waiting on. We want to ensure everything is spot on."

The Portadown driver, again supported by local sponsors including Breezemount delivery services and Terraclean, has chosen to stay with BMR for a second season as it switches from Volkswagen to Subaru Levorg. Four cars are under construction for Turkington, Plato, James Cole and owner Warren Scott.

Turkington added: "It is vital that we make sure it is right. We will get some running before the season opener on Brands Hatch on April 2-3."
