First it was Keith Cronin threatening to disturb the status quo on this weekend’s Galway International Rally and now Eugene Donnelly has popped into the picture too.

Donnelly is a late addition to the line-up for Sunday’s opening round of the 2013 Irish Tarmac series, the five-times champion pulling together an 11th-hour deal to drive a McGeehan Motorsport Mini WRC on an event which sees British champion Cronin return for a rare appearance on home soil.

Donnelly has been missing from the Tarmac series since the Rally of the Lakes last May and admits he doesn’t have any “mad expectations” for his return.

“It is good to be back but I don’t have any mad expectations,” said Donnelly. “I’m looking forward to seeing where we are (in terms of the other front runners).”
